Shinhan Financial first in finance sector to apply financial security level assessment framework on site

Shinhan Financial Group said on Sunday it has become the first in South Korea\'s finance sector to apply a \"financial security level assessment framework\" on site at major group affiliates. The move is described as the first domestic case of shifting from regulation-focused, checklist-style security management to a self-directed system in which financial firms diagnose their own security levels and improve them step by step. Shinhan carried out a joint assessment with the Financial Security Institute.

Financial Security Institute rolls out financial security level assessment service

South Korea\'s Financial Security Institute said on Feb. 10 it has developed and distributed a \"financial security level assessment framework\" to help financial companies conduct detailed reviews of their security posture and systematically improve shortcomings. The framework covers seven areas including governance, protection, response and supply chains, and is built on 45 items and 127 detailed principles. It rates security on four stages from initial to advanced.
