Erebor bank talks new funding at $8 billion valuation

Crypto and defence-focused bank Erebor is discussing raising new funds at a valuation of at least $8 billion, Bloomberg News reported on July 2, citing sources familiar with the matter. If the deal is completed, Erebor’s valuation would nearly double from $4.35 billion recognised when it raised $350 million in December last year. The talks are at an early stage and the exact valuation is still being negotiated, the sources said.

Its existence was confirmed after 2024 materials were leaked, Windows Central reported on Thursday. The interface is based on web technologies using the Microsoft Edge browser and offers desktop-style features such as a Start menu, taskbar and window layering. It can replace the desktop shell on Windows 11 or run on AOSP Android.
