YTN change approval cancellation hearing procedure disputed; KCC says it reflected commissioners\' consent
A dispute emerged at a parliamentary audit over the legality of hearing procedures to decide whether to maintain an approval for a change in YTN\'s largest shareholder. An opposition lawmaker said two items were added to a hearing notice sent to Yujin beyond six initially discussed, arguing a separate resolution was needed. The Korea Communications Commission said the additions reflected commissioners\' consent. Lawmakers also called for guaranteeing Yujin a full chance to explain at a hearing set for Oct. 21.

As Phase 3 of South Korea’s Nara Love Card rolls out, Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea are intensifying competition to attract service members. Benefits shift away from cinema discounts toward frequently used categories such as OTT services, delivery apps, convenience stores and public transport. The banks are differentiating on PX discounts, cashback terms, interest on salary-linked products and rates on military savings, as well as accident and handset insurance coverage.

Court cancels KCC approval of YTN top shareholder change
A Seoul administrative court cancelled the Korea Communications Commission’s approval of a change in YTN’s largest shareholder, citing an unlawful decision-making process by a two-member commission. The court said a collegial body requires at least three members to function properly. It dismissed a related lawsuit by the YTN union for lack of standing. The dispute arose after Yujin ENT acquired a 30.95 percent stake held by KEPCO KDN and the Korea Racing Authority.
