World rolls out \'World Money\' finance super app in about 150 countries; features vary by country
Digital identity verification project World has begun distributing its self-custody finance app, World Money, in about 150 countries. The app combines stablecoins, global payments, virtual accounts, trading and yield programs, but what users can access varies by country depending on regulation and supporting infrastructure. It supports balances in eight currencies and username-based transfers, and includes mini apps and an on-chain lending-based Earn feature. World also outlined risks and limits tied to accounts and recovery.

World Chain to add EIP-7928 BAL on mainnet on Aug 17, support up to 1 gigagas per second
Ethereum layer-2 network World Chain, co-founded by Sam Altman, said it will become the first commercial layer-2 blockchain to stream EIP-7928 Block Access Lists within Flashblocks. The feature will be introduced on its mainnet on Aug. 17. Flashblocks, developed by expanding Flashbots’ Rollup Boost technology for the OP Stack, releases partial block data about every 200 milliseconds. The upgrade aims to enable parallel validation and target throughput of up to 1 gigagas per second.

Grayscale moves to launch spot Worldcoin ETF, pending SEC and Nasdaq approval
Asset manager Grayscale has begun procedures to launch a spot exchange-traded fund based on the Worldcoin token, WLD. It filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for the Grayscale Worldcoin ETF, which would track a CoinDesk benchmark rate and list on Nasdaq under the symbol GWLD. The filing details custody and administration partners and flags regulatory risks, token volatility and ownership concentration.
