Tesla cuts 2026 capital spending outlook to above $20 billion from $25 billion
Tesla lowered its 2026 capital spending guidance, Electrek reported on Oct. 22. In its third-quarter 10-Q report, Tesla said 2026 capital expenditures would exceed $20 billion, down from the at least $25 billion outlook it had presented since April. The revision appeared in the regulatory filing rather than a shareholder letter. Tesla reported $1.53 billion in third-quarter free cash flow, though quarterly cash flow was heavily affected by payment timing.
