Using AI at work can increase workload as staff spend time reviewing and editing, survey finds

AI is simplifying office workers’ document writing and coding, but a survey found it can take more time to review and edit the output, raising questions about productivity gains. Use.AI surveyed 8,316 working-AI users across regions including the United States, Britain, the European Union, Canada and Australia. Many said AI helped produce documents, slides and code. But respondents reported passing on work without reading it, receiving AI output needing fixes, and delays in decision-making.

Three ways ex-Microsoft executive says to use AI at work

A former Microsoft executive has advised workers to use artificial intelligence to review counterarguments, summarise lengthy documents and organise unnecessary accumulated data, rather than relying on it for creative tasks. The adviser said it is more effective to keep human judgement and use AI to reduce repetitive work than to trust AI outputs unconditionally. He also drew a line between asking AI to sort data and allowing it to automatically send emails or messages.

Apple HomeView core features require latest iPhone, iPad

Apple’s new HomeView home hub sells for $299, but fully using the key AI features shown in demonstrations requires additional conditions. Personalization and camera AI features need certain recent iPhone or iPad models, and some functions also require an iCloud+ subscription. HomeView launches on Nov. 13 with a 7-inch touchscreen in wall-mount and tabletop versions. Without meeting device and subscription requirements, personalized requests and AI camera summaries may be unavailable.
