Microsoft scraps UK Nscale data centre deal

Microsoft has pulled out of a data centre deal it was pursuing with British cloud company Nscale, Reuters reported on Oct. 18, citing the Telegraph. The report said Microsoft, one of Nscale\'s two biggest customers, recently terminated a contract for the Loughton data centre in Essex. Nscale said its relationship with Microsoft remained strong and long-term, and that it would continue the Loughton project and its UK business while seeking alternative power sources.

Money flows into U.S. Treasuries on AI bubble fears

Money is flowing into U.S. Treasuries, a safe-haven asset, as technology shares wobble on concerns about an AI bubble, the Financial Times reported on Friday. U.S. Treasury prices recorded their biggest weekly rise of the year, the report said. The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield fell to 5.13 percent on Oct. 16, down 0.12 percentage points over a week. European government bond yields also declined, with UK and Italian 10-year yields falling.
