Apple Intelligence China rollout cleared as Alibaba AI model gets approval
Apple Intelligence\'s launch in China is nearing, Engadget reported. China\'s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved Alibaba\'s Qwen large language model and its Tongyi Wanxiang AI image and video generation tool for use in Apple Intelligence. The approval effectively clears the basis for Apple to deploy the service on supported iPhones in mainland China. Updated filings also include network access approval for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro.
