One in 6 Japanese firms report data leak or risk incidents, survey finds
A survey found 16.2 percent of Japanese companies had experienced a data leak or an incident with the potential for a leak. The online survey of 1,328 firms was conducted from Oct. 9 to Oct. 14. Among respondents, 5.5 percent reported an incident within the past year and 10.7 percent reported one earlier. Large companies reported a 30.2 percent incident rate, while some smaller firms cited shortages of security staff and budget.
