Shinhan Bank opens Shinhan SOL Cluster Busan to boost financial support for marine industries
Shinhan Bank is strengthening financial support for marine industries in South Korea’s southeast region, centred on Busan. The bank said it held an opening ceremony on Aug. 11 for its Shinhan SOL Cluster Busan at the Busan Seomyeon Financial Center. Operating since July 1, the regional platform will identify companies and support them from demand diagnosis to financing execution, including links to policy finance and Shinhan Financial Group services.

KB Financial Group analysed the competitiveness and growth structure of 10 major local commercial districts nationwide using about 25 data points including financial assets, sales and rents. The group examined sustainability, profitability and surrounding demand beyond simple sales or foot traffic to gauge regional growth potential. KB Financial said on Aug. 10 it published the 2026 KB Local Commercial District Revitalisation Insights report based on the KB Kookmin index jointly developed with KB Kookmin Bank, KB Kookmin Card and Korea Data Bank.

Govt launches \'Everyone\'s AI Growth Ladder\' project
The government will build an integrated support system covering AI education, development and verification so anyone can learn AI, develop services and use them in the field. The Ministry of Science and ICT launched the \'Everyone\'s AI Growth Ladder Project\' and opened the AI Learning Center, Lab and Lounge. The online portal aggregates public and private training content. The Lab supports AI service development with tools, tokens and data, while regional Lounges provide offline development and testing support.
