Cambrian raises $6 million seed to build blockchain data oracle
Blockchain data infrastructure startup Cambrian has raised $6 million in a seed round co-led by Franklin Templeton and Polychain Capital. Flow Traders, Selini Capital, Paper Ventures and Nomad Capital also participated, The Block reported. Founded in 2024, Cambrian runs an API providing real-time and historical blockchain data beyond price feeds, including lending protocol data and decentralised exchange liquidity.

Polygon-backed Katana blockchain to acquire IDEX, expand into derivatives trading
Katana, a DeFi-focused Ethereum layer-2 blockchain, is acquiring decentralized exchange IDEX to expand the onchain derivatives market, The Block reported on March 23. The Polygon Labs- and GSR-backed project plans to build a new platform, Katana Perps. CEO Matthew Fisher said Katana aims to strengthen its stack and revenue structure and build infrastructure for the onchain perpetual futures market. Terms were not disclosed.

Tether invests in Dreamcash parent as Hyperliquid expands RWA perpetual futures
Tether has invested in the parent company of Dreamcash, a Hyperliquid-based mobile interface, The Block reported on Feb. 13. The investment came shortly after Selini Capital, Dreamcash and Tether launched collateral-backed RWA perpetual futures using USDT0, an omnichain version of USDT. Dreamcash said on X that millions of USDT holders had no direct way to access Hyperliquid markets. Hyperliquid has used USDC as base collateral for perpetual futures and is preparing its own stablecoin, USDH.
