XRP holder loses 14,600 XRP in fake XRPL verification scam
An XRP Ledger (XRPL) user lost about 14,600 XRP after being lured by a message disguised as a verification step and a promise of high returns. The victim transferred 14,646 XRP, worth about $16,800, to an unverified wallet address. The receiving address was already marked as a scam wallet on an XRPL explorer, and most funds were withdrawn by the time the transfer completed. Experts warned against relying on memo text and urged users to verify wallet addresses before sending funds.
