Empirical Security raises $25 million Series A to develop exploited vulnerability-based threat prediction engine
Cybersecurity firm Empirical Security said on Sunday it raised $25 million in a Series A round led by Brightmind Partners, taking total funding to $37 million. The company plans to use the proceeds to develop and expand its Foundation and Radiant products. Foundation monitors more than 18,000 exploited CVEs to predict threats, while Radiant is trained for each customer environment to identify company-specific threats.

Koo Hyeok-chae, first vice minister at South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, met in Seoul on Monday with former Korea Academy of Engineering president Kim Ki-nam and K-Moonshot semiconductor project managers to discuss how to 추진 the K-Moonshot projects in semiconductors and quantum. Participants shared directions for ultra-fine and stacked semiconductor development, strengthening quantum competitiveness using manufacturing capabilities, and industry-academia-research cooperation to commercialise research results.

Codegate 2026 to open July 23 with human vs AI hacking showdown in focus
The Codegate Security Forum will hold Codegate 2026, an international hacking defence contest and global conference, on July 23-24 at COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul. The event’s theme is “The Path Toward a Top 3 Global AI Power: Security”. A jointly developed “AI hacker” with KAIST will compete in the finals alongside human white hackers. The finals draw 3,333 participants from 88 countries, with total prize money of 71 million won.
