Retail investors sell KOSPI products, buy U.S. index ETFs
As the KOSPI fluctuates around the 7,000 level, South Korean retail investors are selling domestic index products and buying U.S. index ETFs. Retail investors were net sellers of 14.63 trillion won of KOSPI shares in September, while foreigners also sold and institutions bought. In domestic ETFs, retail flows favored U.S. benchmark index trackers. Investors also bought U.S.-listed ETFs, led by a short-term U.S. Treasury fund, alongside dividend and S&P 500 products.
