UK debate on right to switch off reignited as survey links quick replies after work to promotion
A survey found that how quickly workers respond to work messages after hours in Britain is linked to promotion. In research by career transition support firm Careerminds UK, 70.8 percent of those who replied immediately to night-time messages were promoted in the past 2 years. Promotion rates varied by response time, generation, job level and gender. The findings draw attention as the UK debate on a “Right to Switch Off” has stalled.
