BT seen raising more than 2 billion pounds from scrapping ageing copper network
BT may be able to secure more than 2 billion pounds by selling copper recovered while dismantling its ageing copper telephone network, as higher copper prices turn infrastructure once slated for disposal into a new revenue source. The value of the reclaimed copper is seen rising from about 1.5 billion pounds to above 2 billion pounds, amid growing global demand tied to AI data centres, renewable energy investment and electrification.
