Amazon to directly build 12 small nuclear reactors in U.S. Indiana to secure power for AI
Amazon will fund development of a 960-megawatt small modular reactor power plant planned in Indiana and will be the first buyer of the electricity it produces, as it seeks stable power for AI data centres. The project will be built at a closed coal plant site south of Terre Haute, with American Electric Power operating the plant and X-energy supplying 12 Xe-100 reactors. Progress hinges on X-energy’s first commercial project in Texas.

Palantir emerges as dark horse in battle for enterprise AI agents
Competition among leading AI model developers to target enterprise AI agents is intensifying. OpenAI and Anthropic are building platforms and expanding partnerships, while big cloud providers and data platform companies roll out agent projects. Palantir, though less frequently mentioned, is gaining recognition for stability and its ability to connect enterprise data and support agent building. Its forward deployed engineer approach is also drawing attention, and it is accelerating partnerships in South Korea.

TerraPower wins U.S. approval for commercial SMR construction, first new reactor permit in 10 years
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved construction of a TerraPower small modular reactor, SK Innovation said on Wednesday. It was the first time in 10 years that the NRC has permitted construction of a new commercial nuclear power plant, and the first U.S. approval for an advanced reactor such as an SMR. TerraPower will begin building what it called the world’s first commercial SMR plant in Wyoming and aims to start operating a demonstration reactor in 2030.
