NXP to work with GE Healthcare on medical edge AI innovation
NXP Semiconductors said on Jan. 9 it will cooperate with GE Healthcare in edge AI at CES 2026. The companies unveiled AI concepts for anesthesia and neonatal care, combining NXP edge processing and GE Healthcare medical expertise. The anesthesia concept enables real-time voice commands to interact with equipment to cut cognitive load, alarm fatigue and human error risk. In NICUs, monitoring detects infant crying and posture, identifies unwanted objects and alerts staff. Image processing runs locally using NXP tools.
