Ultra-low-cost budget mobile plans priced below 1,000 won a month are emerging, helping households cut telecom bills, the industry says. Many offers are promotional and switch to standard rates after 6 to 24 months, pushing monthly fees into the tens of thousands of won. Some plans jump from 10 won to 18,700 won, while others rise to 36,300 won or 40,000 to 50,000 won.
