BIS tests XRP Ledger to verify tampering in economic statistics

The Bank for International Settlements has tested XRP Ledger as a public verification layer to check whether official economic statistics data have been altered. The system records fingerprint information for official datasets on a blockchain, then compares it with files users download to confirm they match the issuer’s original. BIS ran a proof of concept on XRPL’s devnet, reported seconds-long publishing and verification times, and said the work is not an adoption announcement.
