First Vice Minister Koo Hyeok-chae attends nuclear society meeting, checks SMR research sites
Koo Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister of South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, shared on Oct. 28 the status of R&D projects aimed at commercialising small modular reactors. On Oct. 29, he delivered a keynote at the Korean Nuclear Society’s autumn conference in Gyeongju, highlighting nuclear power’s role in meeting rising electricity demand, carbon neutrality and energy security. He also visited the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute’s proton facility and the construction site of the King Munmu Science Research Institute.
