Enterprise software industry counters AI threat claims with bold AI agent strategy

Enterprise software companies are responding to claims that AI poses a threat by adopting more aggressive AI strategies, including new AI agent products and acquisitions. ServiceNow unveiled Autonomous Workforce and EmployeeWorks and bought Traceloop to improve agent performance. Notion launched Custom Agents, and Airtable introduced Superagent with tiered pricing. Notion says software AI agents cannot use has no future

Notion is unveiling custom agents that can answer repetitive internal questions, classify tickets and automatically generate status reports. It has tested the agents with partners including Ramp, Vercel, Clay and Cursor. CEO Ivan Zhao called the move the company’s biggest change since launch, citing time savings at Ramp. Notion is also testing usage-based fees instead of per-user pricing, preparing a standalone AI chat app and shifting hiring toward younger talent.
