Nvidia steps up next-generation chip design with in-house Vera CPU
Nvidia is deploying its in-house Vera CPU in semiconductor design processes to accelerate development of next-generation chips. The company said it worked with Cadence and Synopsys to optimise core electronic design automation applications. As chip design grows more complex, key EDA workloads such as logic simulation and formal verification still rely heavily on CPU performance. In tests, Cadence Jasper and Synopsys VCS delivered up to 1.5 times higher performance on some workloads with the same core count.

IP68 rating can lead to trouble in water, uncomfortable truth about \'waterproof\' phones
Even smartphones rated IP68 should not be seen as fully waterproof devices that can be freely used underwater, the article says. Prolonged use at pools or beaches can lead to water damage, and most manufacturers do not cover such damage under warranty. IP tests are conducted under limited depth and time conditions set by each maker and typically use fresh water, making protection less reliable in seawater or chlorinated pools.
