Saylor, Adam Back oppose Bitcoin BIP-110, warn changing consensus is riskier
Michael Saylor and Adam Back have publicly opposed adopting Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110, saying it could harm core principles of the Bitcoin network, U.Today reported on Saturday. BIP-110 would treat arbitrary data, digital artefacts and tokens as spam and filter related transactions at the protocol level. Critics warn some currently valid, fee-paying transactions could be invalidated. Saylor said setting such a precedent is dangerous, and Back warned pushing it without broad agreement could split the network.

Bitcoin not a sole invention of Satoshi, as 1997 cypherpunk experiments are revisited
Bitcoin is not a standalone invention by Satoshi Nakamoto but a product combining ideas accumulated in the cypherpunk community since the late 1990s, a claim has emerged. Cryptographer and Blockstream CEO Adam Back said Bitcoin’s structure extends collective research dating to 1997, including discussions on proof-of-work money and use of the Hashcash algorithm. He said Satoshi’s achievement was solving double spending and unifying dispersed concepts into an operating protocol.

Michael Saylor rejects NYT claim naming Adam Back as Satoshi
Michael Saylor, chairman of Strategy, publicly rejected a New York Times investigation that identified Adam Back as Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Saylor said writing-style analysis cannot prove Satoshi’s identity and that decisive evidence would be a signature using Satoshi’s private key. He pointed to emails exchanged in 2008 as suggesting Back and Satoshi were separate people. Back also denied the claim, while the study was described as not conclusive.
