Weekly strength training linked to lower risk of death - study
People who did about 90 to 120 minutes of strength training a week had about a 13 percent lower risk of death from all causes than those who did none, a long-term follow-up study found. Cardiovascular deaths were about 19 percent lower and nervous system disease deaths about 27 percent lower. The study found benefits were not proportional at higher volumes and did not prove causality.
