Bitcoin reclaims 50-week moving average for first time in 45 weeks

Bitcoin has regained its 50-week moving average on a weekly closing basis for the first time in 45 weeks, CoinPost reported. Alex Thorn, head of firmwide research at Galaxy Digital, said bitcoin closed above the level, which represents the average weekly close over the past 50 weeks. He said similar moves in past bitcoin bear markets had acted as a strong signal of a bottom. Thorn added that caution remains needed.

U.S. government moves to develop safety performance standards for self-driving cars

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has begun work on federal performance standards to evaluate the safety of self-driving vehicles, citing the need for common benchmarks for real-world operation. It launched the ASCEND consortium with SAE International to speed development of data-driven measures. NHTSA says existing federal motor vehicle safety standards do not fully cover vehicles without traditional controls. The initiative also aims to curb diverging state requirements, while companies continue expanding robo-taxi and autonomous services.
