AI checks Bitcoin security, finds vulnerabilities across 150 repositories

A Bitcoin security resource group said it used advanced AI models to inspect about 150 Bitcoin-related repositories and found more than 12 vulnerabilities, which it reported to the respective projects. The group is conducting AI-based security audits across key Bitcoin software, including wallets, cryptographic libraries and infrastructure, as part of building a so-called Bitcoin red team platform. It is also developing an open-source AI platform for Bitcoin software auditing.

Surging AI costs prompt companies to build their own coding AI tools

Competition is intensifying among major players seeking a bigger stake in coding AI as its influence grows in generative AI. Some companies that use AI heavily are building internal coding AI tools and offering them to employees as alternatives to costly products from OpenAI or Anthropic. Coinbase rolled out its Forge agent to all engineers and says usage is rising while spending falls. Shopify and Ramp have also developed their own coding agents.

Satya Nadella says multi-AI model strategy is key, especially for security

Microsoft is increasingly pushing back against OpenAI and Anthropic in the enterprise AI market. CEO Satya Nadella said on an earnings call that companies should avoid relying on a single AI lab’s model and instead use multiple models while separating the agent layer from the model layer. He said customers worry about data leaks and vendor lock-in. Microsoft reported quarterly revenue of $90 billion and net profit of $35.8 billion.
