Woori Financial opens Goodwill Store in Cheongju\'s Heungdeok to expand jobs for people with developmental disabilities

Woori Financial Group opened its second Goodwill Store workplace for people with developmental disabilities in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. The new Milal Cheongju Heungdeok branch opened about a year after the Cheongju Sangdang branch. Woori Financial Future Foundation said it held an opening ceremony on Oct. 15. The store is the 18th nationwide backed by Woori. The group is also running donation drives through collection boxes at branches and an October campaign on its WooriWON Banking app.

Broadcast Media Communications Commission approves nominations, appointments of six directors for KBS, BCJ and EBS

South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission approved nominations and appointments for six directors at public broadcasters KBS, the Broadcast Culture Promotion Association and EBS. It nominated two KBS directors to the president and appointed two directors each for BCJ and EBS, with appointments effective Oct. 19. All six were recommended by the People Power Party. The commission held the meeting behind closed doors and urged remaining nominating bodies to make recommendations.

Synology upgrades data solution strategy targeting AI

Global data management and security company Synology held Synology Solution Day 2026 in Seoul on Oct. 13 with about 550 customers and industry participants. Under the theme of re-evaluating data value as the foundation of the AI era, it shared its strategy and technologies for storing, protecting and using corporate data. It unveiled new solutions spanning storage, protection, productivity and smart video management, and presented case studies from Korean companies.
