South Korea launches CCU megaproject with LG Chem, POSCO Holdings
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Tuesday it held a launch briefing for a \"CCU Megaproject\" to conduct large-scale demonstrations of carbon capture and utilisation technology with private companies including LG Chem and POSCO Holdings. The project will demonstrate producing e-SAF from emissions from thermal power plants and converting steel industry emissions into syngas and cleaner marine fuels. The ministry said 238 billion won in state funds will be invested from 2026 to 2030.

Sony premium noise-cancelling earbuds WF-1000XM6: worth buying? Compared with previous model
Sony unveiled its next flagship wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM6, drawing attention to whether it is worth upgrading from the WF-1000XM5, TechRadar reported on Feb. 19. The XM6 is priced at $329. TechRadar said changes are incremental, with a new background music effect, about a 10 percent boost in noise cancelling and slight audio improvements. It said discounted XM5 pricing could make the older model more attractive for many users.

MSIT to invest 151.1 billion won in climate and environment R&D in 2026
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it has finalised an implementation plan to invest 151.1 billion won in 2026 research and development in climate, environment and energy, a 75.2 percent increase from 2025. The ministry will begin announcing new tasks from late January. It plans to launch 10 new projects, including a CCU megaproject and carbon-negative DAC upgrades, and to strengthen public-private cooperation and systems to apply results in the private sector.
