Contradictions seen in AI opposition as users reject data centres but keep using services
Criticism has emerged that people opposing construction of AI data centres still actively use AI services. Cyrus Beschloss, CEO of AI data marketplace Verb, said even those who claim to oppose data centres and AI use AI in practice. He said choosing between halting data centre construction and giving up ChatGPT would not be easy. Growing dependence on AI could deepen social conflict over expanding data centres, critics say.
