A lawsuit has been filed in a New York court seeking legal ownership of more than 39,000 dormant bitcoin wallets, including ones believed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto. The claimant, identified as Noah Doe, asked the court to recognise ownership of wallets holding a total 3.79 million BTC. NYT points to Adam Back as possible Satoshi Nakamoto after year-long investigation
The New York Times has reported, in an investigative story, that Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto could be British cryptographer and Blockstream CEO Adam Back, The Block reported on April 8. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist John Carreyrou analysed old internet posts, court records and cached emails. He narrowed early mailing list users to a single person, citing writing habits. Back has consistently denied being Satoshi, and did so in an HBO documentary.
