FIFA agrees sharply lower China broadcast fee for 2026 World Cup
FIFA has sold mainland China broadcasting rights for the 2026 North American World Cup to China Media Group (CMG) for about $60 million, a report said. The figure is less than half of what FIFA had expected in early talks, which were said to be $250 million to $300 million. The deal also includes rights for FIFA tournaments in 2027, 2030 and 2031, covering free-to-air TV, streaming and mobile platforms, including 4K and 8K.
