EU enforces new rule requiring crypto wallet makers to report breaches within 24 hours
The European Union has enforced a rule requiring makers of connected hardware and software, including crypto wallets, to report actively exploited vulnerabilities or major security incidents within 24 hours. The reporting duty under the Cyber Resilience Act has applied since Sept. 11. Firms must file an initial alert within 24 hours and a full report within 72 hours, with final reports due later depending on the case. Reports are submitted via ENISA’s single platform.
