U.S. Senate introduces quantum technology bill; will post-quantum cryptography adoption speed up
A U.S. Senate bill to support development of quantum technology has been submitted, with a focus on next-generation quantum sensors and strengthening supply chains. The proposal would require the Pentagon to designate three priority quantum sensor projects within 60 days and deploy them by Sept. 30, 2028. It also calls for joint plans with agencies and private companies. Attention is on a possible acceleration of post-quantum cryptography adoption and its impact on crypto security.
