KOSPI jumps 4.61 percent to just below 7,000 on semiconductor rally
South Korea\'s benchmark KOSPI climbed more than 4 percent on Sept. 7, led by sharp gains in heavyweight chipmakers such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, pushing the index to just below the 7,000 mark. Foreign investors and institutions posted large net buying as expectations grew for increased AI infrastructure investment and rising memory chip demand following OpenAI\'s launch of its new AI model, Astra.

Cleon unveils AI role-play solution with Samsung Life Insurance
AI startup Cleon will unveil an AI role-play solution it jointly developed with Samsung Life Insurance at the Samsung Financial Networks booth at Try Everything 2026 in Seoul on Sept. 9-10. The company said it is the first case of its Human Interaction AI being applied in practice at a financial workplace. The solution has AI act as a customer and talk with users in real time to train repeatedly across consultation scenarios.

Samsung to hold second-half graduate recruitment, GSAT next month
Samsung will start its second-half graduate recruitment process from Sept. 8, it said on Monday. Nineteen affiliates including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T and Samsung Biologics will take part. Applicants can submit applications on Samsung Careers from Sept. 8 to Sept. 15. The process includes role-fit assessments in September, GSAT in October, and interviews and medical checks in November. Some roles replace GSAT with skills tests or portfolio reviews.
