Messy home can affect family relationships, study finds
A study suggests a slightly messy home does not always need to be tidied. Researchers found that keeping everyday items within reach can improve convenience and may support consideration and understanding among family members. The team studied 22 households in New Zealand, examining photos of tidy and cluttered areas and interviewing participants about item placement and habits. The researchers cautioned that clutter can also cause stress and conflict, and said the qualitative findings have limits.
