Crime-misused phone numbers to be blocked within 24 hours in system overhaul

South Korea\'s Central Radio Management Service will cut the time needed to suspend phone numbers used in crimes to within 24 hours from the current 2 to 3 days. It said it will fully overhaul the illegal-use phone number suspension system and begin full operations from Aug. 31. The agency built a system to identify carriers in real time and linked an API with the police task force system to streamline requests.

Ubase commercialises AI agent that directly handles customer counselling tasks

Ubase Group said on Tuesday it is moving to commercialise its AI Agent service that directly performs customer counselling tasks. The company said the service includes a conversational AI agent that analyses customer intent and context, and an execution agent that handles requests such as automatic transfers, instant payments, delivery tracking and card loss reports. It uses retrieval-augmented generation to draw on product, event and FAQ information and can provide personalised responses and recommendations.
