Japan stablecoin issuer JPYC raises total 6 billion yen in Series B extension round
Japanese stablecoin issuer JPYC has raised total investment of 6 billion yen ($38 million) in a Series B extension round. The company plans to use the funds to expand its finance and Web3 ecosystem and increase adoption of its yen-pegged stablecoin, JPYC. Logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa invested 1 billion yen in the round. AZ-COM Maruwa plans to pay fees and wages in JPYC to about 2,300 partners and sole proprietors.

AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings weighs JPYC stablecoin payments to 2,300 partners
Japanese logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings is pushing to introduce yen-linked stablecoin JPYC for payments to about 2,300 partner firms, including independent transport operators such as truck drivers. It is considering settling fees and compensation in JPYC to shorten payment cycles and speed transfers, citing the absence of transfer fees. The company is also weighing a partnership with JPYC and discussing an investment of more than 1 billion yen. A JPYC executive said it will keep advancing integration of logistics and commercial payment flows.
