POSCO Future M to push AI transition, signs platform deal with Palantir

POSCO Future M will introduce U.S. firm Palantir\'s data platform as part of efforts to shift work across the company to an AI-centred model. It signed a contract to adopt Palantir\'s data operations and analytics platforms, Foundry and the AI Platform (AIP). The company plans to apply the tools first in sales and marketing to improve customer response and collaboration. It set targets to lift customer response capability by more than 60 percent, raise manufacturing productivity by 30 percent and halve product development time.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Nvidia to expand dedicated AI substrate fabs with joint investment

Samsung Electro-Mechanics will expand its AI semiconductor substrate plants through joint investment with Nvidia, it said on Oct. 21. The companies formed a strategic business partnership under which Samsung Electro-Mechanics will supply package substrates to Nvidia for multiple years from 2026. Production will be handled at its Sejong and Busan sites, where dedicated lines will be added. Items include substrates for Nvidia computing chipsets and package substrates for network switches.

Japan to roll out AI agents for 180,000 civil servants to automate administrative work

Japan will expand the use of AI agents for about 180,000 government employees through its generative AI platform Gen-nai, aiming to boost the efficiency of administrative work. The Digital Agency will add two agent functions, including a chat tool that creates agents through conversation and a development environment targeted for rollout by December. It also released governance, security and safety standards and plans to publish Gen-nai OSS 2.0 in February 2027.
