Lee Jeong-heon says thousands of disaster broadcast dead spots for second straight year, post-management lacking
Thousands of tunnels and underground facilities across South Korea had poor reception of disaster broadcasts for a second consecutive year, Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Jeong-heon said. A survey of 5,647 facilities last year found poor reception at 65.9 percent for FM radio and 73.8 percent for DMB. Nearly half of facilities had FM problems in both 2024 and 2025. Lee criticised the broadcasting regulator for lacking follow-up checks and sanctions after notifying facility operators.

MSIT to expand quantum communications testbed to support commercialisation and overseas expansion
South Korea will expand its quantum communications demonstration base to support commercialisation and overseas expansion of domestic technology. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a kickoff briefing on the open quantum testbed upgrade and expansion project with the National Information Society Agency. The project will add three hubs for commercial, overseas and future uses from 2026 to 2028, with 7.4 billion won to be invested this year.

XRP whale wallets’ exchange outflows have fallen to their lowest level since October 2021, with the 90-day moving average on Binance at $49.7 million, The Crypto Basic reported. The metric peaked at $3.5 billion in February 2025 when XRP traded near $3.30. XRP is now around $1.33, down about 60 percent from its cycle high. A $1.48 zone may act as resistance as supply last changed hands there.
