Sanders says 97 percent of Americans want AI regulation, urges Congress to legislate
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders urged Congress to stop delaying legislation on artificial intelligence safety rules, saying support for regulation is overwhelming. He said lawmakers should listen to the public rather than billionaire big tech companies. Sanders cited polls showing 70 percent of Americans say AI is developing too fast and 97 percent want AI safety regulation. He also pointed to divisions within the Democratic Party over the strength of regulation.

EU launches review of MiCA, seeks views on stablecoin rules and interest ban
The European Union has launched a review of its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation and opened a public consultation on whether changes are needed. The European Commission is seeking views until Aug. 31 on issues including a ban on interest or similar rewards for stablecoins, reserve asset and liquidity requirements, redemption rights and criteria for significant tokens. It is also examining token classification, DeFi gaps and consumer understanding and trust.

SK Broadband integrates AI into local news, channel rank jumps 32 places
SK Broadband said on Wednesday it has introduced its in-house artificial intelligence broadcast production solution, B tv AI Studio, to its local channel ch B tv to establish an hourly news system. The company said the system shifted local news from one to two evening bulletins to hourly scheduling on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 a.m. the next day. It said ratings rose and the channel’s rank within B tv cable climbed 32 places.
