iM Financial Group is moving to provide support for youth mentoring and efforts to expand social contribution activities.
iM Financial Group’s iM Social Contribution Foundation said on Aug. 20 it held a sponsorship fund delivery ceremony on Aug. 19 at the Korea Social Welfare Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul, with the Korea Council on Social Welfare for youth mentoring clubs and projects to expand social contribution activities.
The donation was raised by employees of group affiliates including iM Bank. The foundation will use it to support mentoring programmes planned directly by young people. It will also support "Social Contribution Partners Day", which links cooperation between public and private companies and non-profit and social economy organisations.
It will also continue social contribution projects linked with local communities. It plans to support the "Local Community Contribution Recognition System", which identifies companies and institutions that have continuously carried out social contribution activities with local non-profit organisations, as well as social welfare conventions involving social welfare-related agencies and organisations nationwide.
Hwang Byung-woo (황병우), chairman of the iM Social Contribution Foundation, said he hoped the nationwide cooperation project would broaden young people’s participation and help spread a culture of social contribution.
