Blizzard's popular action RPG Diablo 4 could be released for Nintendo Switch 2. If the leak is accurate, the game is expected to be unveiled shortly after BlizzCon 2026.
On Aug. 19, IT outlet TechRadar reported that billbil-kun, a well-known leaker at French outlet Dealabs, claimed the Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 will be released on Sept. 15.
If the release date is correct, it would come just 2 days after BlizzCon 2026 on Sept. 12-13. Diablo 4, released in 2023 for PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and PC, would expand to a new platform about 3 years later.
The Switch 2 product name mentioned is Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection. It is known as a bundled edition that includes the base game along with the expansions Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. The price was cited as $69.99 in the United States. It was cited at 62.99 pounds in Britain and 69.99 euros in Europe.
Preorders could begin on Sept. 12, the opening day of BlizzCon. There was also speculation that a physical package may be sold as a code in the box without a game cartridge. In that case, buyers would have to download the game even if they purchase the package.
The timing of an official announcement has not been confirmed. Billbil-kun did not specify an exact reveal date, but mentioned the possibility of an announcement at Gamescom 2026. With Xbox already confirming its participation at Gamescom, a reveal there has also been mentioned. A Blizzard announcement on the BlizzCon stage also remains possible.
The report adds detail to earlier speculation this month about a Switch 2 release for Diablo 4. The same leaker had previously mentioned the possibility of Switch 2 development, and this time more specific information emerged, including a release date, edition name, price, included content and a preorder schedule.
In particular, if the package includes the base game and 2 expansions at once, it would be closer to a complete package aimed at new users than a simple platform port. Switch 2 users would be able to enjoy the main game and key expansion content from launch.
Interest in whether Diablo 4 will be ported to Switch 2 stems from the ability to play the hack-and-slash RPG's large-scale content in a handheld environment. Another focus is how the combat and character progression systems shown on existing consoles and PC will be implemented on Switch 2.
Still, what has been confirmed so far is leaked information, not an official announcement. The actual release date and price, edition configuration and package format could change depending on Blizzard's official announcement. With Gamescom and BlizzCon approaching, attention is on whether the Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 will be revealed in the coming weeks.
