KakaoBank executives bought treasury shares worth a total of 464.8 million won on the open market.
A filing on the Financial Supervisory Service’s DART system on Thursday showed 12 KakaoBank executives bought a total of 21,100 KakaoBank shares from June to Aug. 12.
The total purchase amount was 464.8 million won. The company said the purchases reflect executives’ commitment to mid- to long-term growth and to enhancing corporate value.
KakaoBank targets assets of 100 trillion won in 2027 and a return on equity (ROE) of 15 percent in 2030. It plans to diversify its business portfolio, including lending, fee and platform businesses, and fund management, to expand both interest and non-interest income.
KakaoBank said, "The share purchases include executives’ trust in the company’s future growth potential and corporate value," and added, "We will continue to work to increase corporate value and shareholder value."
