[Digital Today reporter Jin-ho Lee] The Central Radio Management Office of the Ministry of Science and ICT is joining forces with Uzbekistan's Electromagnetic Compatibility Center to use and monitor the radio spectrum.

The Central Radio Management Office said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Center (CEMC) in Tashkent with the center under Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technologies to cooperate in radio spectrum use and monitoring.

Uzbekistan's Electromagnetic Compatibility Center carries out radio monitoring, electromagnetic compatibility and other radio-related work. It is working to advance its radio spectrum use and monitoring system and strengthen the capabilities of professional personnel.

The MOU was designed to establish a cooperative relationship between the two institutions in the information and communications field and to expand practical cooperation in radio spectrum use and monitoring. The two sides will pursue cooperation on radio use and monitoring in response to changes in the radio environment, joint cooperation on radio monitoring methods including satellite radio monitoring, and exchanges of education and training experience to foster talent in radio use and monitoring.

They also agreed to share experience and information on radio use and monitoring at related meetings hosted by international organisations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and at international events hosted by the two institutions.

The two sides also plan to strengthen their radio management capabilities through a range of cooperative activities. If necessary, they will continue cooperation such as coordinating positions at international forums and organisations related to wireless communications.
