[DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee (이진호)] Samsung Electronics released a teaser video outlining a new direction for its eighth-generation foldable phone lineup ahead of the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung Electronics showed the eighth-generation foldable phone teaser video on its global official Instagram and YouTube channels on Tuesday.

The video includes scenes that use everyday materials, such as breaking a long chocolate bar or tearing sticker photos, to hint at the new foldable phone's proportions and shape.

Samsung Electronics said it strengthened the advantages of its existing foldable products and added new choices in line with changes in which AI use is expanding across daily life and mobile devices are becoming the key entry point for AI experiences. It said the lineup expansion was 추진됐다 based on foldable technology and consumer usage experience accumulated over seven generations.

Samsung Electronics has expanded the foldable market centered on the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip since unveiling the first Galaxy Fold in 2018. The Galaxy Z Fold has emphasized large-screen multitasking and productivity, while the Galaxy Z Flip has highlighted portability and distinctive usability.

In the eighth-generation foldable lineup, it plans to upgrade the Fold's performance and the Flip's usability while adding a new product group that offers a wider, more natural and immersive experience. Samsung Electronics said the lineup overhaul aims to broaden choices so users can select a foldable product suited to their purpose.

A Samsung Electronics official stressed, "The eighth-generation foldable phone lineup is not simply increasing the number of products, but expanding the range of foldable experiences suited to the AI era based on technology and user understanding accumulated over seven generations."
