Wemade's flagship massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Night Crows has obtained a foreign game licence in China.

Night Crows, under the Chinese name "夜鸦", received the foreign licence, according to the updated "2026 imported online games approval information" released by China's National Press and Publication Administration on June 30.

The approval date was June 29, and the approved platforms are mobile and client. The publishing entity is Beijing Zhongdian Electronic Publishing House (北京中电电子出版社), and the operating entity is Beijing Chuangmengwang Technology Co., Ltd. (北京创梦网科技有限公司), it said. The permit document number is Guoxinchushen [2026] No. 1504, and the publication number is ISBN 978-7-498-17157-3.

A total of 8 games were included on the foreign-licence list for June. Among them, Night Crows was the only title identified as a Korean game. China's foreign game licence is an approval process required for overseas games to be officially serviced in China. While a licence issuance does not mean an immediate launch, it is meaningful in that it has cleared a key gateway enabling full-scale preparation for local service.

Night Crows is an MMORPG developed by Mad Engine and serviced by Wemade. It has established itself as Wemade's key hit since its domestic launch in 2023, highlighting Unreal Engine 5-based graphics and large-scale war content. As of April, the original title posted about 750 billion won in cumulative global sales and 14 million cumulative users. It has also ranked near the top of app market revenue charts in major Asian markets including South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, and has surpassed 450,000 in peak concurrent users globally.

Wemade signed a publishing agreement on June 12 with Mad Engine for a new title based on the Night Crows IP and began development aiming for a global launch within the year. The new title is called Night CrowsW and is being developed as a global one-build MMORPG supporting PC and mobile. With the licence secured, Wemade's Night Crows IP is expected to be pursued on two tracks: the original title's entry into China and the new title's global one-build launch.
