Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation has opened an additional Goodwill store, a shop that supports independence for people with developmental disabilities. It plans to build 100 stores nationwide by 2034 to expand job creation for people with developmental disabilities.

The Woori Financial Future Foundation said on June 28 that it opened the 15th Goodwill Store, the Millal Singil branch, in Singil-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on June 26 with the Millal Welfare Foundation.

The Millal Singil branch was built on a total area of 180 pyeong and includes a store, a donation centre and a staff lounge. It is expected to provide stable jobs and a foundation for independence for people with developmental disabilities in southwestern Seoul and the Seoul metropolitan area.

Woori Financial has built Goodwill stores across the country, including in Ulsan, Daegu and Cheongju. In Yeoju, Gyeonggi province, it also introduced a social contribution outlet called a "Goodwill Branch" combined with a Woori Bank branch.

Woori Financial aims to invest a total of 30 billion won by 2034 to build 100 Goodwill stores nationwide and provide jobs to 1,500 people with developmental disabilities. It also plans to expand sequentially with new stores this year, including in Hanam and Jeonju.

Shin Kun-woo (신건우), a deputy at the Woori Financial Future Foundation, said, "We hope it will become a stable workplace for people with developmental disabilities and a space where local residents can practise giving and sharing in everyday life." He added, "We will expand Goodwill stores across the country to support people with developmental disabilities so they can live independently."
