LG Hellovision said on Sunday it has fully launched its election broadcast operation for the ninth nationwide local elections under the slogan, "Our choice, making regions more valuable!"
In this local election, a total of 1,506 local government chiefs, local council members and superintendents of education will be chosen within LG Hellovision's broadcast areas alone. LG Hellovision plans to provide information on about 3,000 candidates, from metropolitan and basic local government heads to metropolitan and basic council members and city and provincial superintendents of education.
On election day, June 3, it will produce special news programmes. It plans to link to polling and vote-counting sites and run its election system to quickly deliver vote shares and results through on-screen scrolls and SNS.
Sim Ji-hoon (심지훈), head of LG Hellovision's news bureau, said, "We will do our best by mobilising our entire region-focused network so that this local election becomes a festival that raises regional value."
