Pearl Abyss said on Jan. 5 it delivered 100 million won to Doctors Without Borders through an in-game donation event for Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile.
The donation event lets Pearl Abyss make a contribution together with players when Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile adventurers complete in-game donation missions. Pearl Abyss has donated to Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian aid group, every December since 2019 through in-game events with players.
The donation will be used for overall medical relief activities in Sudan in Africa, including responding to various diseases, treating malnutrition and providing emergency medical services.
Saemi Kim, head of HR and culture at Pearl Abyss, said it is meaningful to practice warm sharing with adventurers every year and help regions in medical blind spots. She said she sincerely thanks all adventurers who actively took part in the event.
Jeonghwa Shin, head of sponsorship at Doctors Without Borders, said the donation will be a big help in saving lives in places where access to medical care is limited, such as Sudan. She added she is deeply grateful for the valuable sharing created together by game users and the company.
